After 5 seconds of inactivity, the bin lid will close preventing unpleasant odours from permeating your home. The automatic sensor is powered via 4 x D type batteries (not included) with the battery power pack located on the underside of the bin lid, making it simple to change the batteries when they run out. Pushbuttons are on hand should you need to open or close the bin manually.
